Appreciation Event – UpdateWe held an Appreciation Event on Thursday, April 28th at The Centurion Conference Centre on Colonnade Road in Nepean to honour our numerous supporters, sponsors and volunteers. We wish to thank those who were able to attend this event, having to cope with the power outage and debris in the area after a short but fierce storm.
A special presentation was made to Sean McGrath, General Manager of The Centurion, for the center’s support of our charity for three years. The Centurion Conference Center helps us in co-sponsoring some of our fundraising events such as the Appreciation Event and our BBQ’s.
The people who gathered on April 28th included teachers, principals, corporate sponsors, donors, volunteers and an author/songwriter. School representatives were applauded as they shared their fundraising ideas and the activities held in their schools. Author/songwriter, Pat Moore, invited us to sing a song she wrote about water in Kumbo, which is included in a new children’s book she also wrote. Accompanied with good food, good wine and a comfortable atmosphere, those in attendance discussed ideas on how to increase awareness about The OK Clean Water Project and to continue on building our donor base.
